Mercenaries are King

Chapter 3 Werewolf Mercenary Group

Chapter 3 Werewolf Mercenary Group

At that moment, dozens of heavily armed men surrounded them. The leader, a man with a large beard, said in the local language as he walked, "Take them alive."

Lu Chen lived here for half a year and could understand the local language roughly.

"Trying to capture me alive? No way!" Lu Chen cursed under his breath. Although he was there to make money, as a former Chinese reconnaissance soldier, he still had his dignity as a soldier. This was his bottom line; he would rather die than be captured alive.

He drew his military knife from his waist, preparing to fight to the death.

The distance was rapidly closing, now less than ten meters. He could clearly see these people: local Iraqis, and judging from their simple equipment, they were confirmed to be anti-government militants.

The bearded man waved behind him, and two armed men, armed with assault rifles, charged toward Lu Chen.

As Lu Chen watched them rush towards him, he drew his military knife, ready to strike.

Just as he was about to make his move, two gunshots rang out, and two streaks of blood splattered up. Two armed men were shot between the eyebrows and fell to the ground with two muffled thuds.

The bearded man and his men were all lying on the ground. The bearded man shouted, "There's a sniper! Find him for me!" At that moment, they seemed to have forgotten about Lu Chen.

After a short rest, Lu Chen regained his strength. He rolled over to the side of the killed militant, quickly took the assault rifle, aimed the gun at the militant, and pulled the trigger repeatedly.

Bang! Bang! Bang! A series of gunshots rang out, accompanied by screams of agony. Due to the close proximity, Lu Chen's marksmanship was extremely accurate, and five armed men were instantly killed.

The bearded man roared like a wild beast, gripping his assault rifle and repeatedly pulling the trigger at Lu Chen, shouting, "Kill him! Kill him!"

The distance was too close and the firepower too intense. Lu Chen didn't even have a chance to run. He rolled on the ground continuously, dodging the bullets that were being fired. At this moment, he was trying to survive for as long as possible and dared not stop for even a moment.

Just then, the roar of a car engine sounded, growing louder as it approached, followed by the rapid-fire of machine guns. The firepower was intense, and before the militants could react, more than a dozen of them were killed.

The remaining men dared not stay any longer, and the bearded man and his men turned and ran.

Lu Chen had finally escaped death. He lay on the ground, panting heavily. He was just a hair's breadth away from being killed. Only after surviving this ordeal did he realize how wonderful it is to be alive.

The air was filled with the smell of gunpowder and earth, but it didn't smell so bad now; on the contrary, it was filled with a sweet scent.

A pickup truck roared up and screeched to a halt beside Lu Chen. The window rolled down, and Mike leaned out, shouting, "Lu Chen, if we don't leave now, it'll be too late! There's a large group of armed men behind us!"

When Lu Chen saw Mike, he was furious. All the security guards, including Zhang Lu, were dead, and Mike was the culprit.

He jumped to his feet, rushed over, grabbed Mike by the collar, and shouted, "What the hell happened? People are dead, the car is blown up, what kind of mission is this?"

Lu Chen's intuition told him that there was a problem here, and a big problem at that.

At this moment, two black gun barrels were pointed at Lu Chen, and the machine gunner on the truck turned his gun on Lu Chen. As long as Mike gave the order, Lu Chen would be riddled with bullets.

Lu Chen wasn't having any of it. He shouted, "Come on, fight! I'll take someone down with me even if I die!" With that, he pressed a sharp military knife against Mike's neck.

Mike waved to the group and said, "Put your guns down, Lu Chen is our friend."

The men in the car glared fiercely at Lu Chen, but the gun barrels had already been withdrawn.

Mike pointed into the distance and said, "They're already charging over. Get in the car, I'll tell you the truth."

Lu Chen looked back and saw that, sure enough, a large number of armed men had crossed the dirt road and were flanking them from afar. If they didn't leave now, it would be too late.

He gritted his teeth, pulled out his military knife, opened the back door, and sat down.

The pickup truck roared and sped off.

Lu Chen sat in the back seat. Besides Lu Chen, there were four people in the car: three alive and one dead. The dead man was the black commander he had seen.

So many people have died, why did they take this black man back? His intuition told him that this man was no ordinary person.

Mike seemed to sense Lu Chen's confusion, and he smiled and said, "I'll tell you everything when we get to a safe place."

Lu Chen didn't speak. He seemed to have guessed something. Ruthless, emotionless, and dedicated to the mission, their combat skills were also very high. They were all excellent marksmen and hand-to-hand combatants. With these people together, it was obvious that they were the legendary mercenaries.

Such people are not uncommon in Iraq, but this is the first time Lu Chen has encountered one.

They fight for money, they fight for missions. They would even give up their lives for money and missions. That is their motto. Lu Chen has an innate resistance to it.

The pickup truck shook off the militants and entered an abandoned village, stopping at the gate of a courtyard.

Mike shouted, "Get out of the car." He then pushed open the car door and got out.

Lu Chen got out of the car with them and looked around as he walked. Soon he noticed a fully armed woman staring at him from the roof. The woman had white skin, sharp eyes, and was chewing gum. She was sitting on the roof, holding a sniper rifle in her hands.

Lu Chen was certain that she was the one who had just sniped and killed the two armed men.

He said, almost as if possessed, "Thank you," and then followed Mike into the yard.

The yard wasn't big, and various kinds of household garbage were scattered on the ground, clearly indicating that they had been living there for some time.

There are no tables or chairs here, only some stones, steps, and a broken wooden plank supported by a few stones serves as the dining table.

Mike clapped his hands and said loudly, "Come here, everyone, let's have a formal introduction."

As soon as he spoke, several people gathered around, including the woman on the roof.

Lu Chen stared at them with wide eyes, his conviction growing stronger.

Mike pointed at the group and said, "Machine gunner James, sniper Anthony, assault rifleman Alex, and support Gabriel, but sadly he's dead."

Lu Chen glanced at the group, smiled, and said, "So, you're mercenaries. You don't even have names, do you?" He was somewhat disdainful, but he couldn't go too far, after all, these people were not to be trifled with, and he might not be a match for them in a fight.

"Boss, this is the guy who took you down in one move. I don't believe it. I'm going to beat him up!" Machine gunner James shouted.

Mike reached out to stop James, looked at Lu Chen and said with a smile, "Lu Chen, we are the Werewolf Mercenary Group. Do you want to make big money? Now there is an opportunity in front of you."
