Chapter 2 Attack
Chapter 2 Attack
As Lu Chen opened the car door, he spoke into the walkie-talkie, "Mike, there's a trap."
"Don't fucking care about traps, your lead car is just clearing the way," came the microphone's roar over the walkie-talkie.
Lu Chen frowned, turned off the walkie-talkie, and couldn't help but curse, "These bastards, they don't care about other people's lives just because they have money." It was obvious that Mike was sending their lead car to step on a landmine and die.
"Brother Lu, I'll go with you." Zhang Lu understood what Lu Chen meant and quickly said.
"Stay put and keep your head down," Lu Chen said, waving his hand. After he finished speaking, he jumped off the truck, gripped the AK47 rifle tightly with both hands, and walked forward very carefully.
The terrain on the main road was open and there was no cover at all, but Lu Chen still bent over and made various evasive maneuvers to minimize the area he was attacked from.
He quickly arrived at the location of Xintu. He lay down on the ground and observed carefully. He could tell that there were definitely landmines buried under Xintu, which was a common trick used by armed groups in various places.
At that moment, Mike ran over with two security guards and shouted, "Lu Chen, why did you stop the car?"
"There's a trap!" Lu Chen shouted, pulling out a military knife as he spoke. He had bought it himself; the security company hadn't issued them any. As a veteran reconnaissance soldier, he knew that a military knife could sometimes be more important than a gun.
Mike was furious, his eyes practically spitting fire. He shouted at the two security guards behind him in the local language, "You two go over there, and each of you gets an extra thousand."
These two were locals who only cared about money and not people. Without hesitation, they ran straight ahead.
Lu Chen was startled and cursed, "Damn it, this is suicide!" He didn't have time to think and quickly retreated, grabbing Mike and leaping away.
Then two huge explosions rang out, and sand and dust flew everywhere. Two local security guards were blown away and died on the spot. The huge shock wave threw Lu Chen and Mike more than ten meters away.
Lu Chen nearly fainted. After landing, he lay on the ground without immediately getting up, shaking his head and glaring at Mike, shouting, "You fucking want to die!"
Mike was dizzy from the fall and hadn't quite recovered when he struggled to get up.
Lu Chen shouted, "Lie down and don't move!"
Mike frowned, but remained lying on the ground.
Just as Lu Chen finished speaking, gunshots rang out, and countless bullets whistled through the air. He turned around abruptly and saw a bullet hit Zhang Lu. The car window was covered in blood, and Zhang Lu was slumped over the steering wheel, motionless.
"Zhang Lu!" Lu Chen shouted. He rolled over repeatedly, stood up quickly, rushed to the side of the truck, and opened the passenger door.
He shouted, "Zhang Lu, Zhang Lu!" But there was no sound from him; he was dead.
Lu Chen clenched his fists, his eyes blazing with anger. In the security company, besides the boss, only he and Zhang Lu were Chinese. The two got along very well and had just been talking about marriage. He never imagined that they would be separated by death. He was furious to the extreme.
At that moment, Mike ran over, and Lu Chen grabbed him, punched him, and shouted, "Mike, what's going on? What did you do? Why are they attacking us?" Hatred, questions, and anger filled his mind.
Mike was punched in the face by Lu Chen and almost fell over. He shouted, "If you want to live, then fight me!" He didn't have time to explain, as a large number of armed men rushed over.
After speaking, he concealed himself on the side of the car, took out a submachine gun, and opened fire on the militants. His marksmanship was excellent; he almost killed them one by one with each shot.
Lu Chen was very surprised to see this scene. Mike was definitely not an ordinary security guard, nor an ordinary veteran.
At this moment, two armed men rushed towards Lu Chen, firing as they charged.
Lu Chen, relying on the truck, gripped his assault rifle, quickly aimed, and fired two consecutive single shots, taking down two militants.
Seeing this, Mike gave Lu Chen a thumbs up and said, "Lu Chen, not bad. Now I'm giving you a mission: destroy the fifth car."
Lu Chen was shocked and shouted, "Why? Wasn't the fifth vehicle the priority for protection? Why did you blow it up?"
"Hurry up, there's no time! They're rebels. If they get the loot, we're finished!" Mike shouted, firing as he spoke.
If it weren't for the money, Lu Chen wouldn't want to get involved in the country's internal strife. He looked through the passenger seat at Zhang Lu, who was slumped over the steering wheel.
He gritted his teeth, turned around to look at the fifth car, and rushed towards it.
The distance was only fifty or sixty meters, but Lu Chen was moving very fast, bullets whizzing past him, and he was always just a step away.
Lu Chen quickly rushed to the fifth vehicle, which had become a disaster zone. The anti-government forces seemed to know that there was something wrong with the vehicle, and everyone charged towards it. Countless bullets rained down on them, but they dared not use heavy firepower, for fear of blowing up the fifth vehicle.
A dozen or so security guards were gathered around the vehicle. These men were highly skilled and extremely capable in combat. A middle-aged black man, holding an MP5 submachine gun, was firing and giving orders; he was clearly their leader.
Lu Chen had no explosives and had to make contact with them. He rushed over while firing, just about to speak.
Bang! Bang! Bang! A dozen bullets whistled through the air as Lu Chen rolled on the ground to dodge a volley of fire from the militants. He then looked up at the black commander.
He was speechless. The kid was hit by two bullets and died on the spot.
As the militants' offensive intensified, more and more people fell, and only a few remained.
Lu Chen was completely enraged. He had forgotten about blowing up the car and kept firing back with his assault rifle. When he ran out of bullets, he picked up someone else's gun from the ground.
Five armed men, armed with assault rifles, charged forward from the side, firing as they went, the bullets pressing down on Lu Chen so he couldn't lift his head.
He rolled repeatedly on the ground, dodging a volley of bullets. He saw a shallow crater to his side, lunged towards it, quickly adjusted his posture, and fired continuously.
Gunshots rang out, and three militants on the flank were killed, while the remaining two lay on the ground.
At that moment, Mike came running over, shouting, "Run! Run!" He then threw two grenades into the fifth truck bed and sprinted off to one side.
Seeing this, Lu Chen cursed loudly, "Damn it!" The truck was only a few meters away; if it exploded, he would surely die.
He didn't have time to think, ignoring the bullets flying towards him. He rolled repeatedly to dodge a volley of fire, got up and ran forward, having only run a dozen meters away.
A series of loud explosions rang out, the truck was blasted into the air, and the huge shockwave sent Lu Chen flying. He crashed to the ground with a thud, wincing in pain.
He tried to stand up, but failed several times.
