Chapter 5: The Bearded Man's Background

The remaining six militants opened fire on Lu Chen almost simultaneously. Bullets flew behind Lu Chen, grazing his back several times, and he could feel the burning sensation.

But he couldn't hold out for long; this fighting style was too exhausting, and he had to find new cover. His strength was rapidly waning when he spotted a low wall. Without hesitation, he leaped over and hid behind it.

Bang! Bang! Bang! A series of gunshots rang out, and more than a dozen bullets flew over and hit the low wall.

Lu Chen, holding an assault rifle, lay prone beneath the low wall. There were still six men there, and he was now out of ammunition.

Out of bullets and surrounded by heavily armed militants, this was a certain death situation. He took out his dagger and had no choice but to fight at close range.

The distance was getting closer and closer, less than five meters away. He gripped his military knife, ready to charge out at any moment.

Just then, intense gunfire erupted, followed by screams, then thuds of people falling to the ground, and heavy footsteps.

Mike, James, Anthony, and Alex walked over side by side, each holding an MP5 submachine gun.

Lu Chen waved to them and shouted, "Quick, there are more in the building!" Without thinking, he picked up an AK47 assault rifle from the ground, cocked it, loaded a bullet, and rushed into the building.

Lu Chen looked back at Mike. He did not agree with his statement. These people were lawless and dared to rush into a Chinese security company to kill people. If they did not fight back, would they still be Chinese?

He snorted coldly, gripped his assault rifle, and charged inside. At that moment, there were several armed men in the corridor on the first floor, searching room by room.

Without a second thought, he fired several bursts of fire, followed by screams, and killed several armed men in the stairwell. He rushed to the second-floor stairwell, about to charge up.

Mike ran over, blocking their way, and said in a low voice, "You're tired, take a rest. Leave the rest to us." Before Lu Chen could react, he waved to James and the other two and rushed upstairs.

Lu Chen didn't think much of it, but he couldn't stay still either. Holding his assault rifle, he slowed down and walked forward. At this moment, the corridor was filled with security guards who had been killed by armed men, and the air was filled with the smell of blood and gunpowder.

He quickly went upstairs, and just as he reached the second-floor hallway, he heard intense gunfire.

Then several armed men surrounded the bearded man and ran wildly in the other direction, but Mike and the others did not chase after them.

It was obvious that Big Beard was trying to escape. Maybe Mike knew Big Beard's identity, but Lu Chen didn't care about that. He thought he could just run away after killing so many people? Not so easy.

Lu Chen gripped his assault rifle, quickly aimed, and repeatedly pulled the trigger. Bang bang bang, a series of gunshots rang out, several bullets hitting the bearded man, whose body trembled a few times before collapsing to the ground.

When the other militants saw that Big Beard had been killed, they panicked completely and almost simultaneously turned their guns on Lu Chen and opened fire.

Lu Chen rolled repeatedly on the ground, lunging into a house. He flung the bullets behind him, quickly surveying the area before hiding behind a table, his wolf-like eyes fixed intently on the doorway.

This puzzled him greatly. What was going on? Had they left? This was not their usual practice.

Just then, heavy footsteps approached. Lu Chen opened his eyes wide and aimed his assault rifle intently at the doorway.

But the door didn't open. Mike shouted from outside, "Lu Chen, they're gone. This is Mike."

Then the door was pushed open, and Mike, James, and others strode in.

Lu Chen finally breathed a sigh of relief. He stood up, holding his assault rifle, and said loudly, "Mike, they're really gone."

Mike suppressed his anger and stared intently at Lu Chen.

But James wasn't so good-tempered. He was already hot-tempered, and seeing Lu Chen kill the bearded man made him even angrier. He then picked up a chair and shouted, "You've killed us!" He then hurled it at Lu Chen.

Lu Chen frowned slightly. What was going on? Had this guy gone mad? But he wasn't one to be trifled with either. He couldn't just sit there and get beaten up. He raised his foot and kicked James. With a loud bang, the chair shattered, and James staggered back several steps.

Mike quickly stepped forward and stood between James and Lu Chen, shouting, "Stop! If you don't want to die, sit down and talk this over!"

After he finished speaking, he pulled up a chair and sat down, waving to Lu Chen to signal him to sit down as well.

Lu Chen realized something was wrong, and it was very likely that the bearded man was the culprit. Could this guy have another identity? But even if he did, it didn't justify the bearded man's indiscriminate killing of innocent people. Such a person deserved to die, and he didn't think he was wrong.

He looked up at James, Anthony, and Alex; clearly, all three were unhappy, their eyes filled with worry.

He smiled slightly, sat down in the chair, and said loudly, "What exactly happened?" Although he had already guessed that the problem lay with the bearded man, in his heart, such an executioner deserved to die.

Mike looked at Lu Chen with a serious expression and said coldly, "The bearded man's name is Rahman Saud, nicknamed Madman. He is the younger brother of General Rahman of the anti-government forces."

Anthony continued, "Rahman has tens of thousands of armed men under his command, and has already occupied half of Maisan province. Moreover, General Rahman is nicknamed Viper. After killing his brother, he will definitely target you. Anyone he targets will surely die, including his family."
