Chapter 6: Little Rhinoceros is Here
Chapter 6: Little Rhinoceros is Here
Lin Fan went into the kitchen to get busy, but he kept glancing back at the living room, afraid that the little princess might disappear at any moment.
About ten minutes later, Lin Fan came out of the kitchen and into the living room carrying two bowls of fragrant instant noodles. Putting everything else aside, cooking instant noodles was something Lin Fan could do with ease.
However, instant noodles are fried food and not suitable for children, so Lin Fan specially soaked the little princess's bowl twice. In his opinion, filtering it once would reduce the oil content and make it softer and easier to digest.
The little princess could smell the aroma from a distance, and her mouth was already drooling.
"Wow, it smells so good! Is this the 'running noodles' that my friend was talking about?"
"Yeah! I just don't know if Sizi will like it?" Lin Fan had just put the bowl on the coffee table when the little princess couldn't wait to slip off the sofa.
"Porridge, porridge, it smells even better than Youyou!" Looking at the steaming noodles in the bowl and smelling the aroma, the little princess showed a blissful expression, which made Lin Fan laugh.
"It's a pity there were no vegetables or eggs, otherwise it would have been even more delicious!"
Considering that the little princess was too young to eat spicy food, Lin Fan only sprinkled some seasoning into the instant noodles and didn't add anything else. This made the noodles look very bland, but for the little princess who had never eaten instant noodles before, it was quite novel.
Seeing that the little princess was too young to use chopsticks properly, Lin Fan handed her a small fork.
The little princess was initially confused when she received the small fork, but then she realized what was happening and started swirling the fork around in the bowl.
Seeing this amusing scene, Lin Fan joked, "Do you need your brother to feed you?"
"I think it's good!" The little princess waved her hand, then rolled the noodles to the right size, blew the hot air out of her mouth, and took a big bite.
"Little Sizi is amazing! He can feed himself at such a young age!" Lin Fan clapped his hands.
"Yes...yes, he's really good with words!" Clearly, Lin Fan's praise suited the little princess's taste.
"Okay, then eat slowly. Don't talk while you're chewing, or you might choke!" Watching the little cutie devour the instant noodles, Lin Fan finally understood the true meaning of the phrase "looks so appetizing."
Seeing that Lin Fan wasn't eating and was still staring at her, the little princess suddenly sped up her eating. With the last bite of noodles in her stomach, she let out a long sigh of relief.
Lin Fan was a little confused and quickly asked, "What's wrong? Why are you eating so fast?"
The little princess twisted her body a little shyly: "Honey, my seven is all gone, I'm out."
"Well...so, little girl, you were worried I'd steal your noodles?" Lin Fan was speechless with exasperation at the little princess's reaction.
"This is so good! Isn't it delicious?" The little princess's eyes lit up as she finished speaking.
"What's wrong? You've finished your own and now you want some of mine?"
The little princess nodded frantically upon hearing this, her eyes practically overflowing with longing.
Lin Fan, intending to tease the little princess, pretended to think for a moment: "It's not that you can't eat it, but there's plenty of delicious food outside when it gets light! If you eat too much now, you might not be able to eat it later!"
The little princess's face instantly fell, and she pouted as she looked at Lin Fan without saying a word.
"Brother is telling the truth! The food outside is much better than instant noodles!" Lin Fan's words were like the devil's whisper, tempting the little princess's innocent heart.
"Wow, what you said is true! Then I won't just eat noodles anymore, I'll eat really well!"
"Of course, brother never lies!" Lin Fan gently pinched the little face in front of him. There was no way around it; this face was just too devastating.
"Yay!" The little princess jumped three centimeters high, and her chubby face trembled.
"Hey, hurry up and get this stuff dry, it'll be ruined if it gets cold."
At the little princess's prompting, Lin Fan quickly scooped the noodles out of the bowl, picked up the little princess and placed her on the sofa, then picked up the dishes and went into the kitchen to clean up.
The little princess sat there bored and missed her mother. She unconsciously clutched the jade pendant again. When Lin Fan came out of the kitchen again, the sofa was empty.
Inside Hanfeng Palace, Li Shimin was resting on Xiao Sizi's bed. Since ascending the throne, he had been diligent and hardworking, rarely having enough time to rest. If it weren't for Sizi's unexplained disappearance today, he should have already finished the morning court session and started reviewing memorials.
Just as I was drifting off to sleep, I suddenly felt an itch in my nose: "Guanyinbi, stop bothering me, I'm very sleepy right now."
Li Shimin subconsciously thought he was still in the Lizheng Hall until the next moment when he suddenly felt his nose being pinched, which instantly woke him up.
"Who?" Li Shimin immediately sat up straight. The hall was dimly lit by candlelight, and he didn't see anyone at first.
Hearing the commotion outside the door, Wu She hurriedly asked, "Your Majesty, what has happened?"
"Hehe, Dad, it's me, little one."
"Little Sizi!" Li Shimin turned his head and saw Little Sizi, whom he had been thinking about all night.
"Hmm, why is Father here?" Little Si climbed into Li Shimin's arms.
"Heavens! It really is my little Sizi! Where have you been? Your father was worried all night!" Li Shimin held the little Sizi tightly and refused to let go.
Wu She opened the palace door and immediately saw the little Si Zi being held in Li Shimin's arms. He was overjoyed, but he managed to control his excitement and quietly slipped out.
"Dad, you didn't take those pieces!"
Hearing Xiao Sizi's words, Li Shimin gradually loosened his arms, feeling Xiao Sizi's body temperature, and the huge weight that had been hanging in his heart finally lifted.
"Sizi, quickly tell your father, where did you go last night? How could you just disappear without a sound?"
"I don't know either." Faced with Li Shimin's questioning, the little princess was too young to explain.
Looking into the innocent and bright eyes of the little girl, Li Shimin was at a loss for words to ask this little fellow who had never stepped out of the palace gates since childhood.
However, before he could even think of how to ask, the little one in his arms suddenly started sobbing, and Li Shimin's heart, which had just settled down, clenched again.
"What's wrong, Sizi? You were fine just now, why are you crying? Did someone bully you? Tell your father! Your father will help you get revenge!"
The little princess didn't say anything, she just kept shaking her head.
Li Shimin was at a loss for what to do. He was exceptionally brave when sent to the battlefield and handled government affairs with ease, but he was completely helpless when faced with the tears of his most beloved little princess.
After a while, the little princess finally stopped sobbing: "Daddy! I have so many delicious treats!"
Li Shimin felt helpless for a moment. This little darling was sad for so long just because the delicious food was gone!
"Alright, Sizi, be good. Daddy will ask the Imperial Kitchen to prepare some extra delicious food for you later, okay?"
"It's not good to be late, Guoguo said he'd take me out for something delicious, but we haven't even had our eggs yet, and Jiufei is here!"
"Brother?" Li Shimin frowned upon hearing this, his eyes narrowing as he thought to himself, "Was Little Si really taken away by someone?"
"Sizi, who is the brother you just mentioned?" Li Shimin asked patiently.
"Guoguo Jiuxi Guoguoya! His noodles are so delicious!" The little princess remembered the instant noodles she had just eaten.
"Sizi is talking about an older brother who can cook noodles? Does Father know this older brother?" The two things, the older brother and the noodles, left Li Shimin completely clueless.
"I don't just recognize my father, but also my mother, my second brother, and my older sister!" The little princess habitually started counting on her fingers.
Li Shimin was shocked. He didn't know the people, but they knew all his family members. A sense of crisis instantly surged into his heart.
