This era certainly couldn't built train and from the reference I took for this novel based on the real era, there was a long 750 KM military road (estimated total length) built for the conquest and unification. It was really wide and there was no cars in this era, but carriages. It was estimated that several carriages could go side by side on these roads and reached their destination faster since the road made it easier for them to travel.
